presidio sanitario, diga, acquedotto …

per offrire speranza a chi non è in grado nemmeno di chiederla.
CHI
Il Rotary Club Orta San Giulio (No) ha intrapreso nel 2006 un grande progetto umanitario che coinvolge sei Presidenti: Giovanna Mastrotisi (2005-2006), Mauro Uglietti (2006-2007), Claudio Maulini (2007-2008), Sergio Cicuto (2008-2009), Ettore Giacobini (2009-2010), Giuseppe Antonioli (2010-2011).
La chiave del consenso e dei successi che l’iniziativa raccoglie è costituita dall’intervento diretto di tutto il Club di Orta San Giulio, sia dal punto di vista economico che “fisico”.
Grazie infatti ai continui viaggi intrapresi per lavorare concretamente all’edificazione delle strutture da parte delle professionalità coinvolte – primi fra tutti Franco Piola e Daniele Moscatelli, impresari in ambito edile e tecnico-impiantistico; Giancarlo Primatesta, architetto, e Walter Zerla, fotografo – il progetto è monitorato e progredisce costantemente.
COSA
realizzato
Campionato del Mondo di Ciclismo rotariano 2007
Un grande evento sportivo dedicato agli appassionati di ciclismo organizzato sul Lago d’Orta (No) il 7/8/9 settembre 2007 ha coinvolto oltre 200 rotariani provenienti da 13 nazioni ed ha permesso la raccolta di 100.000 Euro e la realizzazione del primo presidio sanitario a Masango.
Insieme per il Burundi
Una manifestazione calcistica nel maggio 2009 ha coinvolto 29 squadre giovanili ed ha contribuito alla costruzione di una diga per ripristinare la raccolta d’acqua che servirà l’acquedotto, di successiva realizzazione.

Matching Grant
La fattiva collaborazione del Rotary Club Bujumbura Tanganika e l’intervento del Rotary International per raddoppiare i contributi destinati al progetto, supporteranno il Rotary Club Orta San Giulio nella raccolta di fondi per la realizzazione di un acquedotto al servizio della comunità di Masango.
DOVE
A Masango, in Burundi, nella comunità gestita dalla Congregazione delle Suore della Carità di Novara, da più di 20 anni Suor Celina Tovagliato offre assistenza sanitaria ed istruzione scolastica ad una comunità di oltre 20.000 persone che vivono nell’indigenza, ai limiti della sopravvivenza.
Grazie al Rotary Club Orta San Giulio ed al generoso contributo di aziende, privati ed associazioni, vede la luce giorno dopo giorno uno straordinario progetto umanitario, “costruito” direttamente dalle professionalità del Club.

Rotary Club Orta San Giulio (No) undertook a great humanitarian project in 2006, which has involved six Presidents: Giovanna Mastrotisi (2005-2006), Mauro Uglietti (2006-2007), Claudio Maulini (2007-2008), Sergio Cicuto (2008-2009), Ettore Giacobini (2009-2010), Giuseppe Antonioli (2010-2011).The key of the approval and the successes obtained by this initiative is the direct involvement of the entire Club of Orta San Giulio, both from the economic and the “physical” point of view.Thanks to the continuous journeys undertaken by the members of the club – in particular including Franco Piola and Daniele Moscatelli, entrepreneurs in the construction industry and in the field of technical plant design; Giancarlo Primatesta, arquitect, and Walter Zerla, photographer - in order to concretely contribute in building the structures, the project is supervised and it is constantly developing.

Rotarian Cycling World Championships 2007
A great sporting event addressed to the cycling fans and organized on the shores of Lake Orta (No) on 7/8/9 September 2007 involved more than 200 Rotarians coming from 13 Countries and permitted to collect 100.000 Euros and to realize the first health post in Masango.
All together for Burundi
A football event held on May 2009 involved 29 youth teams and contributed to the realization of a dam in order to restore the water saving, indispensable for the waterworks, which will be realized subsequently.
In the near future
Matching Grant
The effective collaboration of the Rotary Club Bujumbura Tanganika and the intervention of the Rotary International, which aims at doubling the financial contribution addressed to the project ,will support the Rotary Club Orta San Giulio in collecting money for the realization of a waterworks for the community of Masango.
WHERE
In Masango, in Burundi, in the community managed by the Congregation of the Nuns of Charity of Novara, Sister Celina Tovagliato has been offering health assistance and education for more than 20 years to a community of more than 20.000 people who live in destitution, bordering on the survival.
Thanks to the Rotary Club Orta San Giulio and to the generous contribution of firms, private citizens and associations, an exceptional humanitarian project is developing day by day, directly “build” by the professional members of the Club.
